Multiple Choice Quiz created by the American Board of Pediatrics, which is run once a year in July.
Our program is part of the a national collaboration, Pediatric OSCE Collaboration of Canada (POCC), whose aim is to standardize the format of OSCEs across the country to better prepare residents for their Royal College OSCE examination. The objective is also to identify areas of strengths and weakness among all the general pediatric resident groups across the country. Ran twice per year, in the fall and in the spring.
Multiple Choice Quiz (MCQ) is also created by the POCC group and are run nationally twice a year, one in the fall and one in the spring.
STACER (Structured Assessment of Clinical Encounter Report) - also referred to as the H&P or History & Physical exam.
The STACER is one part of the senior resident's assessment, which take place in the spring of the 3rd year of residency or later. It is a history, physical and case summary of a patient with at least two chronic issues. It is meant to assess comprehensive and efficient data gathering and interpretation as if you were taking over the care of this patient in your general pediatric practice.
