Course assessment will be based on class participation (20%), a paper (60%), and peer review (20%).

 


COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is an advanced topics course in environmental law and policy. The course will cover endangered species law and policy, with an Alberta focus. This topic has an international, constitutional, administrative, and regulatory component and will also engage current federal and provincial government policy and real-time case studies. Readings and lecture content will include both public policy objectives and legal context. The course will be delivered by Professor Jefferies with participation by the Environmental Law Centre and will seek to advance the discussion and critique of current issues in endangered species management and protection.
