Design Partner Onboarding Cohorts
The role of the Design Partner involves supporting schools to break out of the traditional industrial model of school and to think and act in new ways that will enable all students to experience extraordinary, equitable learning. This is a complex role that involves nimbly applying Transcend’s Org Foundations, Plays, Methods and Resources as well as your own prior knowledge + instincts from your experience working in schools. While you have already begun to learn about these theories, frameworks and tools in your first month of onboarding, you have only just scratched the surface and likely have a lot of questions about what it looks like to leverage these concepts and resources with our school and community partners.
Enter: the Design Partner Onboarding cohorts. New SDS Design Partners and members of the Program Team will be grouped into a cohort of 3-5 new teammates. In these groups, you’ll have a chance to dig deeper into the content that you learned about in the Impression Phase of Onboarding. You’ll get to both experience and practice some of the core methods that we use with our direct partnership projects. You’ll make connections to the direct partnership projects you are working on within your Portfolio, and work through questions and challenges that are coming up on these projects. And, cohorts will be a space to tap into the ‘heart work’ and be reflective about your practice while building community with other new teammates.
Cohorts will begin approximately one month after your hire date, and run for about 5-6 months. They will be led by a member of the Methods team. Learning in these cohorts will take place both asynchronously on your own, and synchronously in group meetings.
Be on the lookout for a slack from Denise, Nikhil K or Leah about the launch of your cohort.
