TPSS Modern Chinese Dance promotes appreciation and awareness of Chinese culture and instills the love for dance in our students.
Our dancers follow a rigorous training regime that emphasises both flexibility and stamina. Training includes varied dance genres including contemporary dance, ballet and even Korean dance. Through the infusion of modern choreography into traditional Chinese dance, our dancers are constantly challenged to improve their skills for a better performance. The training also serves to develop their mindset, and instill in them discipline, diligence, and cohesion as a team to achieve excellence in all their performances.
Our dancers constantly gain exposure by performing at both school and public events. With every performance opportunity, we build their confidence and showmanship. Our students understand that there is no substitute for hard work and perseverance. With dedication and effort, they are not limited to fixed abilities and can achieve new levels of success every time.
Intergenerational projects give both the young and old the chance to see the best in each other. The opportunities also allow our dancers to improve their social skills and have a positive attitude towards community service.
We collaborated with Family Central, a service by Fei Yue Community Services and participated in an Opera workshop. Our dancers taught the seniors opera skills and they bonded through an opera performance. It was a meaningful opportunity for our students to contribute meaningfully to society.
