The Maker Faire CCA was started in 2017 as an after-school interest group with a few students and teachers who were interested in coding, tinkering and making music.

Since our humble beginnings, we have grown into a full-fledged CCA of student makers. Our student makers are innovative, creative and well-rounded leaders in areas of coding, 3D printing, drones technology and electronics.

The TPSS Maker movement is a convergence of creativity combined with skill to produce functional, “home-brew” technology and crafts. Our Maker Space is where our student makers come together to try new projects and use shared tools and work space. It is also where students with diverse interests come together and interact with one another as they tinker. Every session is a melding of minds where we push each other to bring new ideas to fruition and create things that might otherwise never see the light of day.

TINKERING IS POWERFUL AND EMPOWERING

As our student makers work on their flashy inventions, their creativity and curiosity are engaged at the same time they are learning a new skill or practicing one. In the process, they shift from being passive consumers of information to active creators and innovators.

We believe that the outcome of maker education is an independent and creative problem solver who is adaptive and ready for real-world challenges. We are future leaders who dare to experiment with materials and ideas to find better solutions to daily problems and challenges.

Our student makers participated in the MOE Excel Fest 2017 and were privileged to share their project with educators. They have also participated in numerous public makerspaces to share their creations with others.
