The Arts departments of Woburn (Dance, Drama, Visual Art & Media Studies) organized 2 different trips to New York City to give the students the opportunity to delve deeply into their art form. Thanks to the incredible hard work and in-depth knowledge of our Drama teacher, Ms Cate Barnes, who lived and taught in New York for 2 years, each trip has been filled with incredible events and sights that truly make New York a unique and memorable experience. She also acts as our tour guide, not only saving money for each student on the trip but also giving each of us an authentic look at the city and a truly New York experience!!
It is the belief of all the participating teachers that travel is one of the most important and least exploited teaching tools. What better classroom for our students than the world around them? Many of us remember having incredible travel opportunities when we were in high school (Greece, Rome, Germany, England, and China, just to name a few!) which inspired in each of us a desire to travel and learn about the countries and cultures we share the earth with and it is our desire to pass that on to our students!
Check out the photo slide shows and itineraries below to see the jam-packed events that the students got to experience and carry memories of forever!
