2018 Workshop Styles Offered

Jazz/Contemporary:

Jazz gives a fun and modern twist to ballet, and contemporary uses feelings and emotions to create movements. Although techniques from ballet are used, the overall style is different and it is less intense. The moves will be more slow and lyric based, and a attitude is portrayed in the particular piece we are doing.


Bollywood:

Bollywood dancing comes from Indian films aka the Bollywood industries. Bollywood is a mixture of numerous styles such as Indian classical dance forms, Indian folk, western dance styles, western erotic dance: these dance moves are very energetic and upbeat.


Hip Hop:

Hip-Hop is a dance style, usually danced to Hip-Hop music, that evolved from the Hip-Hop culture. This is a widely-known genre of movement that combines breakdance, krump and freestyle movement that is widely seen on TV dance competitions, music videos and dance movies.


Soca:

This is a genre of music and movement that originated in Trinidad and Tobago and is a fusion of calypso, chutney, funk and dancehall.


Afrobeats:

Afrobeats consist of traditional and modern African dances combined with hip hop dance moves.
