Each year, to commemorate Remembrance Day, the Woburn Drama Department organizes a Remembrance Day Assembly. In years past, we have been honoured by the involvement of many community members, including Canadian soldiers back from different tours to share their stories and memories. The Grade 12 piece for Remembrance Day 2009 was an themed dance, with each dancer representing the ghost of someone lost in the war, but each ghost hasn't figured out that they are dead until the end. Perhaps, in the future, we will figure out how to stop the killing altogether...

Each year, Woburn Student Council organize a Charity Week, where the whole school is involved in raising money for a chosen charity. Each year, Charity week is kicked off with an assembly introducing the topic and sharing with the student body what charity will be our focus for the year (Sick Kids Hospital).

Each year, the Woburn Equity Committee puts together a multicultural holiday assembly, celebrating the many diverse cultures and holidays celebrated at WCI.

This dance is from the musical “A Chorus Line” which is based on a Broadway dance audition. This piece is from the beginning of the audition, when there are hundreds of dancers auditioning, each one with a different reason for needing this job and show the spirit and endurance it takes to get through the audition and win the job.

In April, Woburn was invited to participate in the second annual Celebration of Dance Festival open to all dancers in all grades in the TDSB. Last year, the festival's theme was "Water", earning it the title "H2Oh Festival". This year, continuing on the theme of Elements, the inspiration for this year's festival was Fire
In collaboration with the Dance Curriculum leaders, the dance teachers created a short dance sequence that was to be used in each of the dancers. However, how each teacher had complete artistic freedom in how that phrase was to be used. So some dances used the phrase in it's entirety, others used only portions of the phrase, still others used the whole phrase in different pieces throughout the dance.
