This article challenges the curriculum and points out some of the main problems within it. The author believes that the current curriculum is not the best way to teach students.
Main points of the article:
The education system is too "stagnant"
Students are not learning life skills
Lecture-based learning is not as effective as other ways of teaching
How I will use this in my teaching:
Push for change within the curriculum, make it more modern
Teach life skills when able to
I never wanted to use lecture-based learning and I want to push the students to do the work to learn instead of just talking at them
