Your scholar’s safety is our top priority. Success Academy has its own Safety and Security team that helps our schools prevent, prepare and respond to emergency situations, including: coordinating support and response from local precincts; acting as a liaison with city agencies; providing emergency preparedness and active shooter training; addressing school-related conditions and coordinating needed resources; and creating comprehensive and sound school-safety plans for each of our campuses. 

Working closely with the NYC DOE, the NYPD and School Safety Agents, the SA Safety and Security team implements comprehensive school safety plans for each school that aligns with NY State’s General Response Protocol. The team also conducts safety training with each school’s leadership team for a variety of incidents, including evacuations, shelter ins and lockdowns. All schools train on these protocols throughout the year. 

We urge all parents to talk to scholars about how to best protect themselves and keep our schools safe and weapon-free. We also notify families through ParentSquare of any safety incident within our school communities to ensure they are kept well informed.
