We expect scholars to come to school every day for the entire day. In the exceptional circumstances that your child is ill and will be absent or late to school, you must contact the Main Office before the start of the school day.
We track the following infractions: absences, tardies, and early dismissals, as well as when no one calls the Main Office by the school’s start time to inform us that a scholar will be absent or late.
Scholars have a set number of excused absences and tardies for the year depending on the model they are in. Families will not be required to provide formal documentation in these instances.
All additional absences or tardies are considered unexcused except in extenuating circumstances, which is either a medical emergency or a religious observance. Your Senior Leader may request documentation depending on the circumstance and length of absence.
If a scholar has an unexcused absence, they will receive a zero on any missed assessment or homework assignment. If a scholar misses an exam due to an unexcused tardy, they will receive a zero on that exam.
If your child is regularly absent from school, they are likely to fall behind academically and socially. If your child misses more than 15 days of school, they may fail academically and have to repeat the grade.
