Today is the first day of Spring! A great way to celebrate the coming of Spring is by looking back on what happened during the Winter at Sturgis.
So far, this has been a great year filled with creative activities and a lot of "going back to basics" as in bringing back a lot of traditions that we had before the pandemic. From Spirit Week to our amazing STAGE Performances, there have been a number of events and activities that have been a true expression of our school. The community has gotten a chance to gather around and celebrate in many ways.

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! This year finally feels like a "normal" beginning of a school year. We were able to go back to doing so many activities that had become a custom here at Sturgis. We had the opportunity to gather as a faculty in 529 on the first day of school (for staff and teachers) and share wonderful face to face conversations with our colleagues over a delicious breakfast provided by the Sturgis Parent Association (SPA). Our freshmen convocation was also held at 529, where incoming freshmen met with their Advisors before their first day of school. Freshmen visited Camps Burgess and Hayward by freshmen to spend time with their peers, make social connections and reflect on the upcoming school year. They also signed the Captain's Logbook, a tradition at Sturgis in which all incoming students sign their name at the beginning of their Sturgis journey and then again at the end of it at graduation. We have 16 new faculty members joining us with a wide variety of experience and backgrounds, you will be able to learn more about them in this edition.
In this "Back to School" edition you will also be able to get a glimpse into what activities have taken place over the first month of school. Overall, the beginning of the year is off to a smooth start, we are sure 2022-2023 will be an incredible year!
Many thanks to all who helped and contributed to this "mini" edition, we look forward to the publication of our larger edition in the Winter. If you missed the Summer 2022 Edition, you can still read it here!
