This project assignment was to carve a linoleum block based on a design we created and then use that with ink to print out four different designs of the cut-out.
The materials I used for this project was pretty straight-forward, I carved a EZ cut bar with various carving tools. After my block was carved out I used black, blue, yellow, and purple printing ink to print on white paper and black construction paper. Finally I used alcohol markers on one of my prints to add the hand drawn element.
The process for my actual creating of this project was pretty easy as well, after I got over the difficulty of coming up with a design the rest was easy, I chose this design to print out because I wanted to do something that had to do with nature but still a little abstract and something that felt more stiff opposed to if I did a very in depth carving of a mountain range. The only trouble I had after that point was the transferring of the graphite onto my block to trace because as I was transferring the graphite sort of smudged all over my block so I had to make up a lot of the lines and re do my design again.
