Artist Statement

The idea that guided my still-life artwork was my water bottle, the idea that guided my Perspective artwork was a corner in the art room, and the idea that guided my self-portrait was my face. I used a graphite pencil and 9''x12'' art paper for all of the pieces. My process for each of these drawings was very similar. I started by deciding how I wanted each of these pieces to look, and the perspective of which I wanted them to be seen on the paper. I then began the sketching process which included light colored lines and basic shapes. Once I figured out my shape(s) for the artwork I outlined where it was needed, and erased lines that were unnecessary. I finally added any details.
