Artist Statement: For these drawings the prompt was to create realistic drawings of both a human hand and realistic drawings of multiple views of a shoe. These drawings had both a focus on perspective and pure contour. I tried to create these drawings realistically while also focusing on the concepts of perspective and pure contour. The materials that I used to create these drawings were pretty simple, I basically used graphite (Sketching pencil) sharpie to darken the lines, and of course drawing paper. Overall the materials used were not very complex. To create these pieces of art I had to look at the shape of my shoe very carefully in order to realistically recrete it on the paper. I also had to recreate my hand holding a rubber band and its complex makeup. Overall these drawings were an interesting way to try to show detail in a drawing and these pure contour drawings were fun to make!
