Turning tractor-trailer

Graphite

"9x12"

My favorite part of this artwork was drawing the face of the truck, I enjoyed adding in the features of the trucks face and seeing it come together over time. My inspiration for creating this art is that it is something we see everyday driving on the roads and I thought it would be fun to reimagine the tractor trailer truck as an older model truck that still emits visible smoke (Which is what I thought the paint splotches look like) instead of the somewhat more environmentally friendly trucks we see today. If I were to make a change to this art I would probably make a small gap between the trailer and the truck itself in order to further convey the idea that the truck is actually turning. Some of the concepts I learned while creating this artwork were the ideas that you have to shade certain parts to become darker in order to convey the idea that some parts (the lights of the trucks) are meant to stand out. I would not say anything about this artwork surprised me besides the fact that it turned out a little better than I expected. In order to create this artwork I looked at pictures of tractor trailer truck from the front view and side view. I also looked at pictures of tires. This was all to try to get the closest to realism as I could.
