Artist Statement

For the Scratchboard Value Strip, I tried to make scratches going from light to dark.

For my drawing (scratching?) of the River Tweed, I scratched the shallow water, the stones, the not-so-shallow water, as well as the gray sky. I didn't scratch the trees because they were too dark for me to scratch out, so I left that space mostly black.
