Artist Statement
I kind of messed up on the value strip for ink. My problem was that I was using an ink pen that I think was broken, so I just had a long, messy black strip.
For the drawing of my cat, Flora, I didn't have what I'd call a main idea. I used charcoal for the background and graphite, as well as a bit of Sharpie pen, for Flora. I only did one draft, but I spent a lot of time trying to make it look good, and I'm quite satisfied with the result. It doesn't look exactly like my cat (I messed up on the fur beneath her left ear), but it's pretty close.
