Maker's Mark Stamp

Artist Statement

This is a stamp that I designed so I could stamp my initials into my projects. Just in case someone sees one of my things and is like "Ooh, nice. I'ma take this," I can point to my initials stamped (or scratched) on it and say "No, that's mine. See?"

Unfortunately, my lack of a phone makes it rather difficult to take pictures while I'm working, which is why I only have a few pictures of my work–for this assignment and others. Anyway, I wanted a stamp that I could hold and stamp things with. To do this, I sculpted a (sort of) cylindrical handle, with a slightly wider base, so I'd have room for my initials. I then proceeded to scratch my initials - a stylized "BM" - into the base of the stamp.

I'm pretty pleased with my stamp. I'm not sure how much use I'll get out of it, but it was interesting to make it, and I'm quite satisfied with it.
