Beautiful Oops

Artist Statement

I rarely have a main idea. I just try to have fun with whatever art thing I'm doing. With this, though, I did have an idea that I based part of it on. I made the unicycle because I thought it would be fun, but then I decided to make the background a very depressing, sort of dystopian scene with a little bit of green artificial grass and a nice unicycle track, but on the other side of the track, I put a warehouse surrounded by a concrete wall and barbed wire fence with dead grass in front of it. To make this, I did a light outline with graphite pencil, then drew over it with a pen and markers. I waited for the marker to dry, then erased the graphite with an eraser. I only made one draft, but I spent a lot of time thinking of ideas for it and decided to go with a unicycle.
