Step Three
For Step three of our Capstone Project we focused on our second proposal presentation to the stem board in order to continue showing off our progress and show future plans regarding our project.
Content featured:
For this we focused on principles regarding our helmet design project as well as necessary information for our prototyping of the project.
Helmet Content:
MIPS - a crash safety protocol designed for helmets by bike manufacturers
Force- weight exerted on an object
Inertia- how much an object moves after being set in motion
Prototype content:
3D printing- the process of a 3D printer building up an object by layering plastic filament
Chassis- the base/ body of a vehicle
Centripetal force- force exerted on an object as it turns or maneuvers
Reflection:
Overall this was a fast paced unit and mostly consisted of some minimal research but overall studying and planning for our capstone project in the future. We worked hard on prototypes and 3d modelling so that we could build mounts for the base of our car and with lots of difficulty we were eventually able to do so.
Overall I feel I have done well as a conscientious learner and collaborator as I worked tirelessly through a trial and error process of getting our mounts done. I also kept an open mind to possible basket or object carrying platforms for our car since we had to make the decision as a group.
I however think I lacked in communication as I didn´t take a lot of notes or report much progress on the 3d modelling trials which I looked forward to bettering in the future so that I might help the group understand whats happening in the porject trials as well. Due to this I also feel as I have alcked in the character department for not sharing my ideas and just running head furst into modeeling mounts without getting feedback first. IF we had spent more time revising my mounts we might have built a perfect model straight away rather than going through multiple iterations
