Do It better/ physics behind bunny hop

For this project we weren't assigned anything new but rather to reflect on the past year, and give our selves a second chance at something to make it better. I personally liked the sports video project because it allowed ourselves to be really creative through our work and unfortunately I didn't lead that project. So this time I took full advantage of my time now, to do something for myself. I started with an idea of something me and my brother love to do which is riding bikes and decided to find the physics behind getting the bunny hop or achieving lift from oneself onto thyself and the bike. So I got to work on the script of the video.

Script

  1. Opening shot of the bunny hop

  2. narrator explains what it is and how it is achieved

  3. shots of where the bunny hop happened and how their length and height was recorded

  4. shot showing the calculations being made to find the the force of impact and finding total velocity

  5. finishing the video with a summary of how much force is required and 3 shots of it happening

  6. fade to black screen

In conclusion for my do it better project I got to think creatively about film making and incorporating that with physics which I felt I missed out on in my original project. This project might not be better then my physics of sports video but after working at it by myself and finding the struggles I feel much more accomplished knowing what my capabilities are and knowing I got to test them through out the project. To summarize for my physics of sports video I worked on something I enjoy and got to make a more creatively and personally favorite physics video about a sport me and my brother love. We filmed a video I would be proud showing and that's as good as it can get for me. And for that I've learned that if you are going to put the work into a project give it all your effort so you can walk away proudly.
