Week 4 at COSMOS brought a lot of fun, laughter and most of all, accomplishment! Friday afternoon was our symposium where students got the opportunity to showcase all their hard work with their capstone projects. Posters were set up all over the quad and social sciences lawn! Students could walk around and see what their peers had been working on during their time at COSMOS. It was truly amazing to reach the culmination of 4 weeks of hard work! Everyone felt fulfilled getting to explain their project to faculty, students and RA’s. I know that for me, it definitely felt good to get to teach people about something I was passionate about. One of the best parts was that everyone’s project was unique—no two were the same. For example, Cluster 5: Video Games - The Design of F*n from Concept to Code set up tables where people could try out one of the video games they had developed. It was evident that everyone was truly passionate about their topic and had clearly learned a lot from this program. It was also really exciting to get to see the posters printed to such a large size! When my cluster first saw them during lunch, many of us rushed to take a picture and see how it turned out. A lucky student from every group got to keep the poster. Along with exploring different projects, sharpies were circulating, as everyone signed T-Shirts! Everywhere we looked, we could see the community we had built on the back of everyone’s COSMOS shirts. It was an amazing atmosphere; it was an event where hard work and intelligence met community and fun. It was a great way to end off our COSMOS experience.
