We’re already halfway through our time at COSMOS! Students had fun over the weekend going to the Boardwalk, where they spent the rest of the time relaxing and tidying up their dorms. Now, as the third week comes to a close, students have continued to spend quality time in their dorms, especially as final posters were due at the end of the week.
When students are not in class and lectures, you can find most of them hanging in or around the dorms playing board games or socializing with others. Students have found a variety of ways to make these dorms theirs, including recording endless Tiktoks, making and eating ramen in the lobbies, and playing lots of cards. Many floors (particularly in the guys’ building) still report a lively performance of students singing in the showers, which provides an entertaining end to everyone’s day.
Towards the end of the week, the RAs announced during evening announcements about another floor meeting! This floor meeting wasn’t about showering though, but rather about the moving out process (already!) and the staggered airport-like release of students. Besides that, there wasn’t anything too out of the ordinary, and there’s also been a drastic decrease in haikus as well.
Most students reported how this week felt much faster than the others, and much of it can be attributed to how routine dorm life feels now. Even more, since posters were due at the end of this week, many students spent lots of their rec time meeting up with their groups and making finalized touches. Cluster fellows and professors all helped during class time in giving feedback, and the final posters are currently sent off to the printers, where they will be presented during the symposium on the last Friday.
We can’t believe that COSMOS is almost over, with only one week left. As students begin to pack, they reflect on their unforgettable experience and the lifelong relationships made here. We hope the last week will be a wonderful finale of COSMOS!
