By actively engaging in learning opportunities, staff strengthen their expertise, foster innovation, and contribute to the overall success of the SWAP program.
The State SWAP Team strives to offer a range of professional development opportunities to SWAP Providers through various formats. These include:
Sharing relevant event notifications via email
Providing one-hour virtual trainings several times throughout the year
Inquiring about professional development needs
A learning management system (LMS) with required and optional training available
One-on-one and group support
A professonal development newsletter to keep individual's current on the LMS; Galaxy Gazette
The SWAP Taskforce has created a Google workbook featuring a variety of professional development opportunities. This dynamic, user-friendly document is organized into tabs by specific topic areas and includes detailed information for easy access.

Any SWAP Provider who wishes to attend an out-of-state professional development opportunity must first obtain the necessary authorizations from the State SWAP Team. This is accomplished by completing the following google form:
SWAP is a nationally recognized, legislatively approved program, making it essential to maintain consistent messaging and present a unified voice at the state level. Therefore, any SWAP Provider who intends to present at a conference—whether in-state or out-of-state—on any aspect of their program or SWAP as a whole must first receive authorization from the State SWAP Team. This is accomplished by completing the following google form:
