EpiTrax is an open-source, highly configurable, comprehensive surveillance and outbreak management application designed for public health. Local, state, and federal agencies can identify, investigate, and mitigate communicable diseases, environmental hazards, and bioterrorism incidents.
EpiTrax supports electronic laboratory reporting (ELR) and electronic case reporting (eCR). It offers sophisticated analysis,
visualization, and reporting of case and contact information.
EpiTrax increases overall effectiveness in preventing morbidity and mortality through decreased reporting time, automated assignment and routing processes, easy form-creation tools, trend analysis, detection of anomalies, and quality assurance.
EpiTrax will time out due to inactivity in 30 minutes. If a case record (CMR) is locked, it will unlock by default after 2 hours of inactivity.
Below are also a few things you may find helpful while using the EpiTrax Surveillance System on your device:
● EpiTrax functions better with the latest Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome versions.
● The EpiTrax user interface often contains drop-down lists of predefined items. If the item you need (such as a facility) is not on
the list, please contact your system administrator.
● Fields that must be filled in have a pink background. EpiTrax will not save the data if these fields have no text in them.
● Many items within the EpiTrax user interface have additional items underneath them. If this happens, they will have a small
arrow to the left. Clicking the arrow will allow you to view the other items available. It will change to a
down-pointing arrow and expand the list. To collapse the list, click the arrow again.
