Letter from the Administration

What do the teachers do on 12:30 dismissal days?

Our 12:30 dismissal days are a time that our teachers have for trainings, professional development, and time to work together in planning their curriculum.
Last Friday, our teachers spent the afternoon with two goals in mind:
Our new Social and Emotional curriculum, Friendzy, was introduced to our staff and implementation will begin after PTS conferences next week. The Friendzy program provides a Biblical social, emotional and academic framework for PreK-8 classrooms that teaches skills like respect, confidence, problem solving and communication skills.
Grade levels met, and evaluated MAP scores looking at strengths, weaknesses, and goal setting. This time allows grade level and subject matter groups of teachers to organize students according to mastery of standards. (Reteaching and accelerated teaching groups.)
We appreciate families working with our staff in being able to schedule the 12:30 dismissal days throughout our calendar for these productive days. Thank you!
