Upcoming EVENTS

SCHOOL ALERTS!

Just a reminder, we have sent out several text and email notifications this year. If you have not gotten a text this school year, submit a ticket and let us know:

  • Your name
  • Your Student(s) & Grade(s)
  • Cell Phone & Email Address

NOTE: We cannot send out email and text alerts out simultaneously and it does take a little bit of time (about 5-10 minutes) to send a text to all 1,000+ people on our lists. We say that to say this: If your friend got the alert and you did not, please wait about 10 minutes or so, if you still don't get it, contact Mr. Henderson. We will send out a text message and an email for each alert. We no longer do robocalls.

given the subzero windchills forecast for Wednesday night (January 30, 2019), the Safe Environment Training scheduled for that night at Holy Trinity-Louisville has been cancelled. A reschedule notice will be sent out once a date has been decided.

Help Wanted: Technology Assistant

We are sad to announce, but very happy for Melissa Bakken she is going to be leaving St. Albert to pursue a new career. Melissa has been our part time technology assistant for three years. She will be leaving St Albert by the end of April and we are looking for someone to fill the part time technology assistant position. We are so thankful for all that she has done the past couple of years for us. We wish her the very best.

While Melissa will still be around for a few months, we want to start the search for this position. If you are interested, please contact Bill Henderson: bhenderson@stalbert.org, or Ellen Martin: emartin@stalbert.org.

JUNIOR ACHIEVEMENT

JA NEEDS YOU!

Have you been wondering how to become more involved at school? Here’s the answer… parents are needed as volunteers to present Junior Achievement material in the classrooms! JA provides materials and scripted lessons for interesting and enjoyable classroom presentations. You need no special experience (only attendance in an Honor Thy Children’s class). There are 4-6 class sessions of 30-40 minutes each (Feb.-April 2018) for grades K-5. Teachers are flexible in working with your schedules.

Volunteers are needed for the following homerooms:

  • KA, KB, KC
  • 1A, 1B, 1C
  • 3B
  • 4B
  • 5A

Contact your child’s homeroom teacher or Mary Heather Adam (madam@stalbert.org) for more information or to sign up to be a part of your child’s classroom experience. Your child will be glad you did!

Understanding and Recovering from Suicidality

The attached flier details an upcoming presentation, Tuesday, February 5, 2019, 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, and titled “Understanding and Recovering from Suicidality.” This presentation is free and open to the public.

Now Enrolling: Junior Kindergarten!

St. Albert the Great Parish School is thrilled to announce our latest expansion! Starting with the 2019-2020 school year, we will offer a Junior Kindergarten (JK) class! JK is designed for children who miss the new Kentucky kindergarten admittance date of August 1, or those who may need an extra year of development to grow and mature before entering kindergarten. Your child must be 5 years old by November 1, 2019, and meet our JK class criteria.

Students will be guided through a developmentally appropriate curriculum that will lay the foundation for a successful transition into Kindergarten. This program will be staffed by a certified teacher, with a maximum class size of 15, and will mirror a modified Kindergarten classroom in layout, schedule and curriculum.

We are excited about this opportunity to continue to grow and invest in our school's future.

Space is limited. Now enrolling for 2019-2020. Please contact Principal, Ellen Martin, at (502) 425-1804 or emartin@stalbert.org, if you have any questions or wish to discuss Junior Kindergarten enrollment.
