TAlking With your kiddos

Do you ever feel like nothing you say is received well with your child(ren)? You think that you are saying the right thing but it ends with a sigh, a frown, or even worse stomping off to a slammed door? I have had those days too. As a parent I just stood there like what just happened? I was trying to say this so it would not elicit a response like that?

I still get some of those responses (maybe not stomping off and slamming doors). Only now they just leave or shut down the conversation all together.

Over the weekend I came across a poster made by a school counselor that I want to share with you. It says it is for teens but you can adapt it to talking with smaller children too. I hope this helps you continue the conversation...

Have a great week.

Annual Stewardship Form

St. Albert the Great Parish is made up of thousands of generous people giving their gifts of time, talent and treasure in support of our parish's mission to love, serve, and know God and one another. As part of our Annual Stewardship Renewal, this Tuesday we will be sending home Early Stewardship Forms to families currently attending St. Albert school (last year's Stewardship Renewal was delayed from Spring to October 2020 due to COVID-19).

The return of an annual Stewardship form is a requirement for you to receive Parish Tuition Rates for the 2021-2022 school year.

These "Blue Forms" are being sent out to you ahead of the parish-wide Stewardship Renewal in April to allow our parishioners with school children additional time to return the form before the end of the school year.

Please return this Early Stewardship form to the School Office by April 9th. Thank you.

Parent Pick Up

Parents may not pick their children up on the church side of the school at dismissal. This area is designated for bus students, walkers and bicycle riders only. Carpool is only dismissed to the back of school. Thank you for being kind and considerate to all of our families.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL

The last day of school for the 2020-2021 school year is May 25, 2021. This will be a 12:30 dismissal.

Parish Pastoral Council -- Open Positions

It is with great pleasure to announce that it is time to begin the process of identifying new members for the Parish Pastoral Council (PPC). In consultation with the Pastor, the PPC actively listens to and identifies the needs and concerns of the parishioners and develops a parish pastoral plan to respond to these needs working closely with the parish staff. The Council also seeks to implement the plan by seeking the involvement of parishioners.

We are in need of 4 parishioners who possess the following qualities:

A desire for spiritual growth in themselves and the Parish

An enthusiasm about the future direction of the Parish

A willingness to listen, to speak honestly and to work toward consensus

The ability to inspire and empower others to delegate

Flexibility and openness with people and ideas

What we are asking of you is the following:

Consider if you have the above qualities, and if so, prayerfully consider nominating yourself

Consider others within the Parish that you feel exhibit the above qualities and nominate them (with their approval)

Nominations can be sent to mamapesce@yahoo.com, subject line: PPC Nomination, or can be brought to the Parish office.

COVID Policies

While we are very excited our staff is receiving the vaccine and encouraged that numbers are decreasing we still want to be sure we continue to be diligent in not 'letting our guard down'.

We want to remind parents of our Re-Entry Handbook and specifically doctors appointment policies.

"If a student must leave for an appointment, we ask that they not return to school for the remainder of that day."

Pre-Registration Fee

Just a reminder, on March 12, 2021, we will automatically draft your Pre-Registration fee of $100 per student (current returning students) through your FACTS account, in order to reserve your child’s spot in class for the 2021-2022 school year. In the past, we drafted pre-registration fees in early February. But due to potential Covid-19 hardships and the recent holiday season, we decided to postpone payments until mid March.

You will receive a notification from FACTS Management via email in advance before your account is drafted. If you have any questions, please contact Cheryl Harper at charper@stalbert.org or 425-3940, x107.

Fish Fry Thank you!

THANK YOU ST. ALBERT!

On behalf of the Sports Ministry we’d like to thank you for your support during our first fish fry. While we weren’t sure what to expect for this first fish fry given the weather and our new drive thru only format you guys supported us in a big way. We were completely surprised that 95% of our sales came through online pre-orders! Based on last week we’ll have plenty more fish and we’ve made several adjustments to our process for filling orders to get orders out faster.

Thanks for your patience with us last week and we’ll see you this Friday from 5-7:30pm!
