Letter from the Administration

Sometimes Advent can seem like a dark and dreary time of year. We may have less daylight or become stressed by the hustle and bustle that is all around us. And without Jesus, we are a people in darkness. But, when we look to the Advent wreath in hope, we become a people of light.

The third candle of the Advent wreath is pink and symbolizes joy. It is called the “Shepard’s Candle,” and is pink because rose is a liturgical color for joy. The third Sunday of Advent is meant to remind us of the joy that the world experienced at the birth of Jesus, as well as the joy that we have reached the midpoint of Advent.

Having reached the midpoint of Advent yesterday, I encourage you to pray with your families and be attentive to God’s word. This allows you to see the light shining through the darkness. Through prayer and reflection, we will more clearly see Jesus, the Light of the World, this Christmas.

8th Grade Midterm Exam Schedule

One of the ways we strive to prepare our 8th grade students for high school is by giving midterm and final exams. Midterm Exams will take place the week of December 12th.

Please see the schedule below.

Friday, December 16 is a $1.00 dress-down day for all students. Christmas attire is recommended but not required. Students may dress down based on the $1.00 dress-down day policy found in the parent-student handbook.

Let’s see how festive you can get! We want to see those Christmas sweaters, shirts, Santa and elf hats, dresses, headbands, bows, accessories and more!

Proceeds benefit 8th grade activities.
