Letter from the Administration

November 1st, 2021

Gray skies and cold ahead: As an undergraduate at The Ohio State University, I remember November - February being difficult months filled with gray skies, rain, sleet, and snow. To this day, it still seems that when I travel to Columbus (including this past weekend) days are still monopolized by this dreary weather.
I recently listened to an inspiring podcast about this time of year. During these months, it is up to us to BE the sunshine! We can not control the weather, or many things in our lives, but we can control ourselves. Let’s choose to be our own sunshine, and spread your bright light to those around you. Take some time to fill yourself with happy thoughts (and maybe a special coffee) and spread your joy!
Have a great week!

Sincerely,

Ellen Martin

Principal

Feast Day Raffle: Time is Running Out!

One Week left to purchase your 2021 Feast Day Raffle Tickets!

We aim to sell 1000 tickets and currently are less than halfway to our goal--we need your help! All proceeds go to offset the funds lost due to the cancellation of our Summer Picnic. This raffle helps our Parish and School community in a major financial way. We invite you to purchase your ticket online or via the Parish Office today.

Please share this opportunity with your family and friends and help support our Parish and School community!

covid protocol:

Parents of a vaccinated student may send a copy of their child's vaccination card to tpark@stalbert.org or to the school office to the attention of Tatum Park. If your vaccinated child is exposed to a positive case, you will still be contacted if they are within the 3-foot radius of the positive case. Vaccinated students do not need to quarantine. This is optional but would greatly help us in speeding up the process dealing with exposures and quarantining. Thank you!

Homework club schedule update

Many parents have asked if Mrs. O'Keefe will extend Homework Club to Thursdays. Beginning November was 4th through the second trimester Thursdays have been added to Homework Club. A decision will be made about extending Thursdays for the 3rd trimester in February at a later date.

Veterans Day -

mass for our military

We will be celebrating the courageous men and women who have served—and are serving—our country at Saint Albert the Great's Mass on November 11th at 9:25 AM. We would like to invite and encourage all active duty members and veterans of the military and their families. We would like our students to be able to experience and honor those who have served our great nation. Thank you!

Cafeteria closure 11/5

Due to a staffing shortage, the Cafeteria will be closed on 11/5. Students should bring a lunch and drink from home on Friday. Thank you for your patience and understanding!

Santa's Secret Shop

Santa Secret Shop is back, so tell your kids to start earning some Christmas money! Santa Secret Shop is an opportunity for the kids to pick out presents for their loved ones. All gifts are reasonably priced.

The shop will be Nov. 30-Dec. 2. We will need parent volunteers as well.

The volunteer sign up link will be in the next Monday Memo.

8th Grade Poinsettia sale

The season of giving is right around the corner. Are you looking for a gift for your neighbor, teacher, co-worker, boss, family member, or friend? Our 8th Grade Poinsettia Fundraiser is the perfect opportunity!

We are asking for your help to sell and/or buy poinsettias to support our 8th graders fundraise for their class trip in April.

An order form is coming home in the Tuesday folders and there is also an online option to order: https://store.stalbert.org/

Thank you!!

Box Tops - Easier than ever

Box Tops are a simple way to make money for our school! All you have to do is scan your receipt.

Thank you to all who have sent receipts. Please continue sending to Angela Augustine or Rachel Hubbard. Each Box Top is worth a dime. Those dimes turn into dollars, which turn into great things for our students!

If scanning receipts isn’t your thing, send them to school in an envelope labeled for Angela Augustine or Rachel Hubbard, and we’ll do it for you. Receipts are only good for two weeks after purchase, so don’t delay!
