Christ with me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ in me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me, Christ on my right, Christ on my left, Christ when I lie down, Christ when I sit down, Christ in the heart of every man who thinks of me, Christ in the mouth of every man who speaks of me, Christ in the eye that sees me, Christ in the ear that hears me.

If you would like to offer up in prayer an intention at the Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday Masses this year, envelopes are due by Sunday, March 22nd.
Please note that there will be no school Mass on Thursday, March 26. Instead, on Friday, March 27, students will gather in the church at 8:00 a.m. to hear from the Children of Mary Sisters, followed by Daily Mass at 8:30 a.m.
This weekend March 14 & 15 is the 4th Sunday of Lent, commonly known as Laetare (lay tah ray) Sunday, translated as "Joyful Sunday." Laetare Sunday is a little break in our penitential season. Rose vestments may be used and flowers can be used in decorating the altar area. It's a moment of refreshment, a glimpse of the Resurrection's joy, encouraging perseverance in Lenten practices. Everyone is encouraged to wear rose or pink and to join us for coffee and donuts in the gathering space after Mass.
March 19th | Mass at 5 p.m.
Thursday, March 19th is the Solemnity of St. Joseph. In his honor we will be having evening Mass at 5:00pm. Join us afterwards for a treat in honor of Jesus's earthly father! St. Joseph is venerated for his role in family life with Mary and Jesus. He is the patron saint of the universal church, fathers and workers, especially carpenters.
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process by which one explores faith and life in the Catholic tradition. The Rite is modeled after the initiation process used in the first centuries of the early Church and involves a formation process that includes weeks of study, prayer and discernment.
During the 10:30 a.m. Mass on the Third, Fourth and Fifth Sundays of Lent, those who are preparing to be baptized at Easter, known as “the Elect” will participate in special rites of the Church called the Scrutinies. These are important and special rites of the Church. Whenever they are celebrated the Scripture readings of Year A of the liturgical cycle are used.
The Church describes the Scrutinies:
“In order to inspire in the elect a desire for purification and redemption by Christ, three scrutinies are celebrated. By this means, first of all, the elect are instructed gradually about the mystery of sin, from which the whole world and every person longs to be delivered and thus saved from its present and future consequences. Second, their spirit is filled with Christ the Redeemer, who is the living water (Gospel of the Samaritan woman in the first scrutiny), the light of the world (Gospel of the man born blind in the second scrutiny), the resurrection and the life (Gospel of Lazarus in the third scrutiny). From the first to the final scrutiny the elect should progress in their perception of sin and their desire for salvation.”
Please keep in prayer our catechumens as they prepare to enter into the life of the Church and receive the Paschal Sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation, and the Eucharist.
Please also pray for our candidates who will be received into the Catholic Church. They too will also be confirmed and receive the Eucharist for the first time alongside with our Catechumens.
In Christ Jesus,
Flynn Mudd
Director of Formation and Evangelization

Music during Lent
During the season of Lent, there are some chants that are used to set this season apart for us musically. We speak the “I confess” (Confiteor) prayer and follow it with the Greek chant, Kyrie Eleison, Christe Eleison, Kyrie Eleison. We chant the Our Father. The Lamb of God is sung in Latin – the Agnus Dei. (pronounced Ah nus Day ee) Singing some of our chants in Greek, English and Latin during the season of Lent marks this season with a sense of solemnity.

Many Catholics want to read the Bible because they know it is God’s Word, but they give up because it seems so complicated. Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible helps you get the “big picture” by showing how fourteen narrative books of the Bible tell the complete story from Adam and Eve to Christ and the Church. Presenter Jeff Cavins shows you how to read the Bible so that you can actually understand it. Aided by the unique color-coded Bible Timeline® Chart, which arranges the key people, places, and events of Scripture in chronological order, Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible will help you discover the story of salvation history and understand how you fit into God’s plan. This eight-session study program includes video presentations that explore all twelve time periods of The Bible Timeline Chart.

The weekend of March 29th, we will take up a collection for our St. Vincent de Paul Society. Through your generosity, this ministry is able to provide critical assistance to neighbors in need right here in our community—helping with utilities, rent and other basic necessities. When making donations by check, please make checks payable to St. Albert SVDP Conference (rather than the parish). This helps funds reach those in need more quickly.
It’s hard to believe, but we are halfway through the St. Albert fish fry season, and what a good season it has been so far. The Environmental Concerns Committee has been hard at work with their recycling efforts. So far, after 3 weeks, we have recycled 7.5 big bags of aluminum cans, 3 big bags of plastic, 225 aluminum food pans, 181 large tin cans, more than a big leaf bag of pull tabs, 51 pieces of shrink wrap, and a whole bunch of cardboard. We are on pace to set new recycling records this year! Please continue to help us by recycling all you can while at our fish fries. Remember, you do make a difference, please make it a positive one. Thanks! Environmental Ernie
P.S. We will be selling St. Albert tote bags in the cafeteria with the carry out orders for the special price of $1 per bag beginning this week!
Weekend of March 15th
Pack 327 will be on hand after each Mass during the Hospitality Weekend of March 14th-15th to pass out donuts and sell their famous Scout Cards.

This money ensures that your St. Albert's Pack has the resources needed to promote the virtue and character the Scouting program aims to instill in our parish's kids.
