Musical Theatre at CCHS is a performance-based course where students earn credit by bringing a full-scale musical to life on stage. Students gain hands-on experience in singing, acting, movement, and ensemble performance, while working as part of a large, collaborative production team.
No prior musical theatre, drama, or singing experience is required. Whether you’re stepping on stage for the first time or have years of experience, students are supported and challenged at their level.
Grade 9 students are welcome to participate as an extracurricular opportunity. Course credit begins in Grade 10. All students registered in the course are guaranteed an onstage role in the production. Auditions are required only for students interested in lead or supporting roles.
Musical Theatre runs outside of the regular school timetable and focuses on commitment, teamwork, and creativity in a real production environment.

Students build confidence on stage while developing fundamental skills in singing, acting, and movement. The emphasis is on teamwork, learning the rehearsal process, and contributing to a successful production. No prior experience is required.
In Musical Theatre 20, students take on increased responsibility within the production. Students refine performance skills, develop stronger stage presence, and may explore leadership opportunities within the ensemble. Greater independence and commitment are expected as students continue to grow as performers.
