The Saskatchewan Mining Association (SMA) has several upcoming opportunities for professional development through the Minerals Connected program. They are offering free virtual workshops that provide teachers with resources connecting mining and geology to the Saskatchewan curriculum. Each workshop runs from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. CST and will include free resources.
Mine to Classroom: Exploring Potash in Science Education: Learn all about Potash, Saskatchewan's official mineral, in this interactive session. All teachers who attend will receive free curriculum-correlated lesson plans and a Potash Kit with supplies to run labs in their classroom!

Join us at Mitchinson’s Flight Centre for the second annual Girls Take Flight—a high-energy, hands-on aviation event designed to empower and inspire the next generation of female aviators!
This in-person event is all about encouraging young women to dream big and explore the exciting world of aviation. Girls aged 10 to 20 will have the chance to experience free flights (limited spots available), engage in fun and educational activities, and connect with real pilots and aviation professionals—all in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

*NEW* Expansion of the Canadian Student Loan Forgiveness Benefit Announced for Workers in Underserved Communities
The Canada Student Loan (CSL) Forgiveness benefit has been expanded to include early childhood educators, dentists, dental hygienists, pharmacists, midwives, teachers, social workers, personal support workers, physiotherapists and psychologists who choose to work in designated underserved rural or remote communities.
Depending on the profession, eligible applicants can receive between $15,000 to $60,000 in CSL Forgiveness over a five-year period. For example, early childhood educators are eligible for up to $15,000, teachers up to $30,000 and psychologists up to $60,000.

Post-secondary graduates may also benefit from several provincial supports, such as Saskatchewan student loan forgiveness (select professions), repayment assistance, incentive programs and return-for-service payments for certain professions. Saskatchewan’s unique Graduate Retention Program was recently expanded to offer up to $24,000 in tuition tax credits to graduates who live and work in Saskatchewan.
