The internet is undefeated when it comes to information, but the people at Saskcode are amazing and we have people in our division who are also knowledgable. Join the Edsby group "Prairie Spirit Computer Technology Teachers" to connect with our local experts.
Select a dedicated space. You need to make sure that the machine won't be tampered with by students or disturb kids with the noise it makes while printing. Many jobs take several hours. You also need to make sure there is minimal dust and you have appropriate access to electrical outlets and the internet. SaskCode can print class projects for you as well.
The choices available are overwhelming. As a school you are able to purchase anything. The Bambu A1 is in use in several schools in our division but other better options may become available over time. Check with our local experts if you are thinking of investing in something for your school.
Watch the video and then use it to complete the quiz attached. The video is excellent if you have an A1 Bambu printer (if you don't it will be a little bit of a commercial for them).
To help gain some more insights into how 3D printing works and the materials use. Have students complete some research on the types of filaments that are used.
You can access lessons, tutorials and real people to help you start kids 3D printing at your school.
Use TinkerCAD for all your drawing to 3D Print. SaskCode has many resources to walk you through how to use it to set up your class and get kids desiging objects to print.
Try this game out as fun summary activity once students are comfortable with the program.
