Why is this important and why should you care?

This  is important because of the long term and short term effects that Mengele left behind. The horrors that were committed will never be brought to justice because Mengele was a coward who ran away. It is because of Mengele that many victims had to live with the fear of persecution solely for being twins. It is because of Mengele that many of the survivors had long lasting health effects. It is because of Mengele that many children died whether it was direct or a slow painful death. You should care because this is a pivotal moment that is forever documented in history.
