Hitler Youth was a youth program that took place in Germany, and was a key element of the success of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party. They believed in having total control of their country, and indoctrinating the youth of Germany was the first step. Youth programs supporting Hitler had been present before the creation of Hitler Youth, but this organization was the most prominent, and well known. Hitler Youth was first developed in 1926 and made official in the early 1930’s by Hitler. It was a program designed to indoctrinate children using a variety of different camps, activities, events, and propaganda. The purpose was to train boys to be future Nazis and fight in the war, and to teach girls how to be obedient housewives. The program emphasized loyalty to their leader Hitler, militarism, and Nazi supremacy. It targeted males and females aged between ten and eighteen, with separate programs for each gender. Later on, membership of the Hitler Youth became mandatory and was supported by propaganda. Hitler Youth focused on physical fitness, military training, and ideological education. Hitler Youth fell at the end of World War II after the death of Hitler.
