Christmas on the Radio:
Throughout the war, a huge emotional toll was taken on the soldiers in combat and even the families at home who were missing their loved ones. In the years 1942-1945, there were special Christmas broadcasts for the soldiers. In these radio shows they would talk about the events going on back at home where they were from. Additionally they would also have high class artist perform music and comedy shows. These broadcasts were seen as a very special morale boost for the soldiers who were stuck at war with nothing else but the radio. In the first image to the side it shows Bob Hope and Jane Russell hosting a radio show together on Christmas. In the second image it shows a picture of the record that would be played on the radio for the soldiers during Christmas.Â
