Chromebook Student Setup Video

Chromebook Information

Email

Go to outlook.office.com (Students: Use your full email address and password.)

Once logged, you can pin the websites to your shelf. See video below to pin websites to the shelf.

Offline Google Drive Access

You can create and edit Google files in your Drive while offline, and they will sync to your account once your Chromebook connects back to WiFi. Recent files are also available offline, but not all files in a drive will be. This feature is turned on by default, but you may consider individually making specific files available offline to ensure access.

Chromebook Tools

G Suite (Formerly Google Apps)

G Suite includes Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Slides, among many other tools. The main way to save files and get things done on the Chromebook is through G Suite. You have infinite storage in Drive, so use it as needed for school work!

Hapara: Chromebook Monitoring

Hapara is a Chomebook monitoring and classroom management tool for you to use in your classroom. Classes are generated through PowerSchool, but you may create your own for needs like clubs or after school groups. 

WeVideo: Web-based Video Editing

All middle and high school students and teachers have a WeVideo account to use for editing videos on the Chromebooks. 

NOTE: For best experience, use the website. App is limited.

Kami: PDF Markup and Note Taking Tool

Kami can be used as a Chrome extension to add notations on PDF documents. It can also be used as a general note-taking app. Syncs with Google Drive! 

Other Helpful Information

You can pin apps to the Chrome shelf and add bookmarks to your bookmark bar to make all of your important tools one click away.

The Ports on the Side: USB-C

Your Chromebook has two USB-C ports in addition to two older USB ports. These USB-C ports can do everything: provide power, connect to displays, and connect to storage devices. However, you may need an adapter to connect it to things like projectors that have a VGA connection. There are a variety of adapters of available that may meet your needs. You may consider a mult-use adapter like this one by Aerofara.
