Sanctuary of Salvation

In my project, I examine the role of the Holy Spirit in the Economy of Salvation. Drawing on St. Basil's idea of the Holy Spirit as the dwelling place of the saints, I argue that the Spirit saves humanity by providing a space for man to meet God. The Spirit offers himself as that space of love and encounter, the sanctuary of salvation. I hope that this project will advance an academic appreciation for the Holy Spirit among popular theology and will encourage Christians to seek in the Spirit an opportunity of encounter and union with God.
