Welcome to the 2021 Senior Legacy Symposium!
This project was a media campaign meant to encourage healthy eating habits and weight maintenance in college students. The project was developed in Dr. Lori Jones’ Foundations in Community Nutrition course in coordination with the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics at Saint Louis University. Members of the team included current senior Nutrition and Dietetic students Ashley Atkinson, Emma Hubbard, and Alhan Sayyed. The purpose of this project was to create an educational media campaign to address a nutritional focus for a target audience, in this case college students. This project allowed these students to incorporate their nutrition education knowledge with marketing and communication skills to promote healthy eating within the community. Marketing materials developed included a poster, handout, and educational video that could be easily accessible by the target population. The campaign was tailored to college students as a target audience and required the group members to study trends that would get their peers to engage with the material. Overall, this media campaign can be used to promote healthful behaviors among college students.
