Welcome to the 2021 Senior Legacy Symposium!
How do politicians and nongovernmental organizations create economic policies that lead to inclusive economic development through incentives that help cities harness their capital to the creation of the new industry jobs of the 21st century? This project will map out the challenges St. Louis has faced and still faces with respect to systemic racism, and economic inequlities. The report will go on to highlight key organizations in St. Louis City that are impacting the region and are ensuring that all residents have a seat at the table of economic prosperity and political decision making.
Alex Oleson is from Lenexa, Kansas and came to Saint Louis Universitiy in fall of 2017. Oleson majored in Political Science with minors in Urban Poverty Studies and Economics. In Oleson's 4 years as a Billiken he has been involved with the Micah Learning Community, an MLK Scholar, a member of African American Males Scholars, a 4 year member of the SLU Mens Track and Field Team, and a charter member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated on SLU's Campus. After Graduation Alex has accepted to the Orr Fellowship Program in Indianapolis, IN where he will work for Woven Teams a local Tech startup located in Indianapolis.
