Hojalata: Tin Foil Art

Description: Join us for a vibrant celebration of LatinX culture as we explore the art of hojalata tin foil. Tin foil art, known as "hojalata" in Spanish, is a traditional Mexican folk art dating back to the 16th century. It involves shaping and decorating tin to create decorative or functional objects. This hands-on workshop invites children of all ages to unleash their creativity and express themselves through the traditional craft of Mexican tin art.
Join us in celebrating LatinX Heritage Month and embracing the richness of LatinX culture through art, creativity, and community. Whether you're a seasoned artist or a first-time crafter, this workshop is the perfect opportunity to connect with others, celebrate diversity, and express yourself through the universal language of art.
Registration is required, and can be done online or in person. Registration is limited to the first 50 registrants, but there will be a wait list for those interested once registration is full.
Staffing: 2 library staff members to conduct and oversee the program.
Budget: $100 for art supplies
