December's Theme: Holiday's from around the World
This December at the library we will be celebrating all things holiday. Join us for our recurring programs as well as the following special events.
Please be sure to check out our displays in the children's area for popular titles on the subject.
Festive Fun: Kids' Holiday Card Workshop
Date and Time: Tuesday, December 3rd, 4:00pm-5:00pm
Description: Join us for a Holiday Card Workshop where children can unleash their creativity and spread joy by making personalized cards for any occasion! Whether it's Christmas, Hanukkah, Eid, Diwali, Kwanzaa, or any other celebration, this workshop welcomes children of all backgrounds to come together and craft heartfelt cards to share with their loved ones. From festive designs to heartfelt messages, kids will have the opportunity to express themselves and celebrate the spirit of togetherness. Don't miss this chance to make memories and spread cheer with us at the library!
Registration is required, and can be done online or in person. Registration is limited to the first 50 registrants, but there will be a wait list for those interested once registration is full.
Staffing: 2 library staff to oversee and guide the activity
Budget: $50 for special card supplies, including envelopes
Winter Wondercraft: Kids' Snow Globe Workshop
Date and Time: Tuesday, December 17th, 4:00pm-5:00pm
Description: Join us for a whimsical winter adventure at our Winter Wondercraft: Kids' Snow Globe Workshop! Children will delight in creating their very own snow globes, capturing the magic of the season in a jar. With a variety of festive materials and guidance from our friendly staff, kids can let their imaginations soar as they design and assemble their unique snow globe masterpieces. This hands-on craft activity is perfect for sparking creativity and spreading holiday cheer.

Disguise a Gingerbread Man
Date and Time: All month long during open hours
Description: Attention all creative kids! Are you ready to bring your favorite book characters to life in the sweetest way possible? Join us for our Gingerbread Character Disguise activity at the library! All month long, you'll have the chance to transform a gingerbread man, girl, or baby into any character from a book you love. Get crafty with crayons, markers, construction paper, puffy paint, and more as you design your disguise. Supplies will be provided in the children's area all month long. (Beltran, 2020)
Once your gingerbread creation is complete you can leave them on display at the library, or take them home!
Staffing: 1 library staff member to maintain supplies and assist with displaying the art on the bulletin board.
Budget: n/a we will use craft supplies on hand and print our own gingerbread man template.
