Yankton Dakota Artist Mary Sully Inspired Art Activity
Date and Time: Thursday, November 5th, 4:00-5:00pm
Description: Step into the world of Yankton Dakota artist Mary Sully with our inspired art activity! Join us for an exploration of Sully's vibrant and culturally significant artwork as we draw inspiration from her style, themes, and techniques. Participants will have the opportunity to create their own original pieces of art, guided by the spirit of Sully's visionary work. Whether you're an experienced artist or just starting out, this program welcomes all skill levels and ages to celebrate the legacy of Mary Sully and engage in a meaningful artistic experience. Come discover the beauty and richness of Yankton Dakota artistry in a supportive and inclusive environment.
Registration is required, and can be done online or in person. Registration is limited to the first 50 registrants, but there will be a wait list for those interested once registration is full.
Staffing: 1 librarian and 1 library staff member
Budget: $60 for tissue paper and art supplies
BambinO: An Opera for Babies
Date and Time: Tuesday, November 19th, 1:00pm-2:00pm
Description: Immerse your little one in the enchanting world of BambinO, a groundbreaking opera designed by LA Opera to captivate babies with soothing sights and sounds. Join us for an unforgettable experience where soft pillows and gentle melodies create a comforting atmosphere for both babies and caregivers. In BambinO's interactive environment, participation is encouraged, allowing even the youngest audience members to engage with the performance. This program, tailored for ages 0 to 3 accompanied by a parent or caregiver, offers a unique opportunity for early exposure to the arts in a nurturing and welcoming setting. Come share in the magic of BambinO at our library! (LA County Library Event, 2024)
Registration is required, and can be done online or in person. Registration is limited to the first 30 registrants, but there will be a wait list for those interested once registration is full.

I Spy in the Library
Date and Time: All month long in the library display
Description: Young explorers are invited to sharpen their keen eyesight and attention to detail as they search for hidden treasures amidst our colorful and vibrant display. With a variety of themed I Spy challenges that change regularly, there's always something new and intriguing to find. From spotting animals in the jungle to uncovering hidden gems in outer space, our I Spy adventures promises endless fun and excitement for children of all ages. So gather your little detectives and join us for an interactive journey of exploration and imagination at the children's library display case.
Staffing: 1 library staff to change up the display weekly and keep the area tidy.
Budget: n/a We will use supplies on hand to build our display.
