Poll Everywhere is a dynamic online polling platform to engage students and allows presenters to ask questions of students/participants, collect their responses by inviting them to respond through a website or mobile device.
The FERPA compliant cloud based application uses WiFi and integrates with Brightspace.
Presenters can access the Poll Everywhere application from the launch pad of my.sjf.edu.
When logging into Poll Everywhere, enter your email address @sjf.edu
Students can use their own personal device(s) to respond/participate in polls.
Go to my.sjf.edu and from Launch Pad click on Poll Everywhere icon.
From the iPad - install the Presenter app for Poll Everywhere from Self-Service.

Whether you're meeting with a small team, classroom students, and/or large campus event, Poll Everywhere is designed to allow presenters to get to know their audiences, collect feedback, gauge knowledge, and pace the discussion based on real-time participant responses. Choose from a variety of activity types and let your audience respond on the devices they use everyday.
Manage your activities, default folder to place activities in.
Click on Folder and enter name to further customize your activities page.
Select the check box next to one or more folder or activity titles to see various actions you can do. i.e., clear responses, create a report, duplicate activities, and more.

Does Poll Everywhere integrate with PowerPoint, Keynote, and/or Google Slides?
Instructors can import their course rosters from Brightspace into Poll Everywhere. This automatically registers each student as a Poll Everywhere participant. Registering students with Poll Everywhere allows educators to easily identify how students responded to their activities, and export Poll Everywhere gradebook reports as grade columns within Brightspace.
This feature is designed to streamline attendance taking and reporting for instructors.

St. John Fisher University uses polling software to support the campus community and content stored within the software platform.
Scope
This policy serves as a reminder that the Polling software application is licensed and operated by the University. It is provided for the sole purpose of advancing the University's mission and goals. As such, the University undertakes the cost and management of the software application. This policy supports the management of costs related to this service such as ongoing support, usage, and storage capacity. Account Creation and Access
The Polling Software Platform can be accessed by faculty, staff, and students using their network credentials. Currently, name changes do not automatically transfer to the software application. Users who change their name or username should contact OIT to manually update their account.
Polling Software Platform Components:
Polling Software application – Allows participants to create and present, archive responses, and perform other functions.
Polling Software application – Can be installed on University provided and personally owned computers and mobile devices.
Polling Software application / LMS integration – is integrated and available within the University supported and licensed Learning Management System.
Polling Software Data retention – available within the application and housed by the vendor.
Five Account Types:
Participants - is any user who engages with the Polling Software application.
Presenter - all faculty and staff users can create and present activities, share activities with Teams and run reports on shared activities. This is the default user role for all new users.
Team Lead – can create teams and manage their membership, clear and reset shared activities, run reports for all activities shared with the team.
Admin – can manage account-wide settings and defaults, invite presenters to the account, view and edit all account activities.
Account Owner - oversee the entire account, including settings, payment methods, billing, and presenter license. Only owners can change plans, which includes downgrading or upgrading an account’s plan. There may only be one owner per account.
Accounts and Data Retention
The Polling software offers configurable settings to automatically delete users and data after set periods to limit the number of users within the licensed application.
User accounts - will be deleted after 380 days of inactivity. All of the associated data will be deleted when a presenter is removed through this process.
Faculty/Staff Departures
Users must contact OIT to change ownership of activities before leaving the university, if other presenters need to retain them.

Privacy and Right of University Access
While the University will keep Polling software application usage secure, privacy is not guaranteed. As explained in the University's Appropriate Use Policy, OIT staff or other appropriate University officials can access secure content on the University Software platform under certain circumstances. These circumstances may include maintaining the system, investigating security or abuse incidents, or investigating violations of this or other University policies.
User Responsibility
OIT maintains the University’s Polling software application. Per the University’s Appropriate Use Policy faculty, staff and students are expected to manage their accounts appropriately. Sharing of passwords is strictly prohibited. Each individual is responsible for their account, including the safeguarding of access to the account. It is the responsibility of each employee to ensure compliance with these guidelines.
