Indiana is a state located in the midwestern and Great Lakes regions of the U.S. It is the 38th largest by size at 36,418 square miles and the 17th most populated with over 6.6 million residents. It was the 19th state to be admitted into the U.S. in 1816. Indiana has a very diver economy and back in 2016 its gross state product was $341.9 billion. The northernmost tier was settled by mainly people from New England and New York.
