Delaware is a state located in the mid-atlantic and northeastern region of the Untied States. It is the 2nd smallest state at 1,981 square miles and the 6th least populated with a little 952,000 residents. It is divided in only 3 counties, the lowest number compared to any other state. The 3 counties starting in the North, are New Castle, Kent, then ending in the southern region with Sussex. It was party of the first original Thirteen Colonies and it because the first state to ratify the Constitution in 1787, giving it its nickname "The First State".
