Arizona i s a state located in the southwestern region of the United States. It is the 6th largest state at 113,998 square miles and the 14th most populated with over 6.9 million residents. It was the 48th state to join the U.S. which makes it the last of the contiguous states to be admitted in 1912. It was previously a part of independent Mexican in 1821. It is well-known for the Grand Canyon National Park and 1/4 of the state is made up of Indian reservations that serve as a home of 27 federally recognized tribes.
