Ekonomiste avì no prodezen u felic globalizad: nu mozev becepo bunkopi produte od tali mold, id, kopan la, nu davev vark a liente pavri landis we makev da produte.

La globalisation… !

Les économistes nous avaient promis une globalisation heureuse: nous pourrions recevoir des produits bon-marché du monde entier, et, en les achetant, fournir du travail aux habitants des pays pauvres qui les fabriqueraient.

En somme, un équilibre idéal, un idéal de paix, le bonheur éternel dans le commerce universel ! Oui, mais ça, c’était la théorie… et je ne suis pas sûr que les théoriciens de la mondialisation eux-mêmes y aient cru.

Globalization… !

Economists had promised us a happy globalization : we could receive cheaper products from all over the world, and by buying them, we could give work to people in poor countries, who would manufacture them.

In short, an ideal balance, an ideal of peace, eternal happiness in universal trade ! Yes, but that was the theory… and I am not even sure that the globalization theorists themselves believed in it.
